Courtenay Pitcher began painting in August 2024 to spend time with her mother Erla who was given four months to live due to heart failure. Erla has defied the doctor’s predictions and outlived their expectations. Erla has over 30 years of painting experience and Courtenay is truly grateful to mentor under Erla.
Courtenay enjoys watercolour due to its portability. On occasion, she creates acrylic paintings. Courtenay did not paint or draw until 2024, so every completed painting is a complete surprise! Her artistic journey is about being vulnerable, enjoying the process, learning about colour theory and composition, seeing everything with a new perspective, and sharing those experiences with other artists and viewers. Courtenay loves to travel and make art along the way. She lives in Lake Country, BC Canada with her husband Shawn.
