Wells, BC is just a few minute drive down the road from Barkverville, BC which is an historic mining town. We stopped in Wells and Barkerville on the way back from our son’s wedding in May 2025. Many of the homes in Wells feel like people live in them to follow the gold rush and then leave once their backs have broken from leaning over a gold pan of nothing but gravel in cold water all day. Nothing seems to grow on the lawns and the homes are as old as dirt.
